There Are No Words

Today was supposed to be a day of zero miles – a day off for all 3 of us. My entire world crashed with a single phone call. It’s the phone call that no parent can anticipate. My daughter did not survive an impact from a drunk driver. We were 1,500 miles from home and on motorcycles. My friends surrendered the remainder of the trip to ride with me on the longest trek of my life. My family sprang into action and banded together to hook up the trailer and head west to pick me up. I have amazing friends and family – I am thankful to each and every one of them. I am not alone but I certainly am empty inside. I will have to finish the story of this trip some time in the coming weeks. Right now, I am out of words.

Trying to get to my family as fast as possible.
